?? Woah, raise the red flag! ?? The 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule includes a 2.8% CUT in physician reimbursement. This is bananas—current rates already underpay doctors! For example, a 15-minute PCP visit (1.3-2.0 RVUs @ $32.75 each) pays about $65.50. But here’s the math: →?$150/hour for the MD (benefits included) →?$47/hour for support staff (med assistant + receptionist) →?$100/hour for rent (assume 4K sq ft @ $50/sq ft) →?$24/hour for utilities/cleaning →?$10/hour for basic software That’s $331/hour just to operate a bare minimum clinical unit. To break even, doctors need to cram nearly 90 minutes of work in 60 minutes. How does that math even math!?! Listen, the politics behind pricing medical care is hidden and highly contentious. Budgets have to break even, so rates are cut deeper and deeper. But ultimately, the people who pay here are not politicians who set the rates, but those delivering the care.
