Education Leaders of Color
教育管理组织
A membership network of changemakers working across sectors to build generational wealth for people of color.
关于我们
Education Leaders of Color (EdLoC) is a membership organization dedicated to elevating the leadership, voices, and influence of people of color in education and to leading more inclusive and sustainable efforts to improve education. Our aim is to dramatically increase the number of effective, values-aligned, third-way Black and Latino leaders in high-level positions in education and adjacent fields where they can be a transformative force in the lives of children, families and communities. To reach our goal, we focused on advancing values-aligned leaders of color, aligning our community to these values and aligned policies, and investing in our leaders through the Boulder Fund. Our vision is to disrupt generational poverty by ensuring that low-income and underrepresented children have access to a high-quality education that enables them to become critical thinkers, have choices, capitalize on opportunities and secure continuing economic advancement.

Today, Donald Trump signed an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education (ED). This action is a direct attack on America’s public schools, students, and teachers. It’s crucial we speak out through messages to Congress, social media, and conversations with loved ones, about what’s at stake for the young people and communities we care about. Cutting the Department of Education will create inefficiencies and undermine crucial programs supporting student success in school and life. It’s time for our Network to rise and defend public education. ?? Share this post if you are ready to stand up and defend public education. To learn more about EdLoC's response, read our full statement on the sudden mass layoffs at the Department of Education here: https://lnkd.in/gE6ecSiD

The mass layoffs at the Department of Education are more than just staffing cuts—they jeopardize critical programs that millions of students and families rely on. Our Chief Policy Officer Angelica Solis was recently featured in USA Today, highlighting the devastating consequences of these cuts. FAFSA, IDEA services for students with disabilities, and Title I funding for low-income students all stand to suffer from this mass reduction in oversight and support. The uncertainty surrounding the future of public education underscores the urgency of our work. EdLoC remains committed to advocating for policies that protect the most vulnerable students.
