    ? In 2025, B2B marketing is going to look a lot more like B2C. ? That was my prediction in Thursday’s PRCA webinar. I've been swotting up on all things B2B marketing trends since joining distillery in November. Like many things in social marketing - and a common theme among the speaker predictions - these trends won’t be new news to seasoned practitioners. We’ve been advising our clients on this for years, or at least I have. But change takes a long time. Organisations have been going through significant marketing transformation to prioritise social/digital marketing, budget accordingly and implement. But I think we're going to see a real shift this year. So what’s driving it? ?? Diversification in budget owners >> Content briefs coming into agencies may not be comms/PR led, but instead be product or customer marketing, distributors, or even heads of sales. Some of this is due to comms headcount being decreased in organizations and it's also being told they have to do more/same with less budget and a focus on financial impact - moving from brand awareness and ER KPIs to leads and conversions. ?? New gen buyer behaviour >> We are entering a time when the decision-makers are digital natives and they are increasingly using social media as part of their decision-making research. ?? Social-first Algorithms >> Interest based content is what is landing in their feed. No one is interested in being sold to - certainly not in their down time doom scrolling. ?? Human-led >> B2B is very much about relationships at a one-to-one level - especially with big ticket items. People buy people. So there will be more importance on employee and exec social visibility / online thought leadership and influencer engagement. I’m merely scratching the surface here. B2B is rich territory. While in the webinar I hinted at the possible ways these may come to life through client briefs, I’ll drop those in a future post.
