We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone in the Bay FC organization and all of our fans for an unforgettable inaugural season.
Although our maiden voyage in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) has come to an end, we have made an undoubtable mark in this league and beyond. Our record-breaking 11 wins made us only the second ever expansion franchise to reach the postseason. Our historic quarterfinal match against second-seed Washington Spirit came down to the wire, with Asisat Oshoala scoring the Club’s first ever playoff goal in the 82rd minute after an assist from Penelope Hocking. We fought hard until the very last minute of extra time.
Our expansion team roster came with several notable mentions. Our signing of Zambian International Racheal Kundananji made her the most expensive player in women's football. Since Abby Dahlkemper joined the Club in August, she has been named to the #NWSL Team of the Month for 3 consecutive times. Our first round Draft Pick Savy King represented the US in this summer’s U-20 World Cup, while defender Alyssa Malonson got her first cap for the USWNT in the recent international window.
Bay FC excelled off the pitch as well. The club ranked among the league’s top teams with an average regular season attendance of over 13,000 fans per game and led the NWSL in merchandise sales. We made ambitious moves, including hosting championship-winning FC Barcelona for a world-class international friendly, as well as announcing plans for a state-of-the-art training facility on Treasure Island. We have built a deeply engaged community base and digital audience, with nearly 10,000 season ticket members, 75 community partners, and 387K followers across platforms.
We cannot wait to continue our pursuit of becoming a top team in the country and around the world in both business and on-field performance!
