2nd Act Org, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with headquarters in Boston, MA and a chapter in Cleveland, OH. Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together (COAAST) and Improbable Players bring a combined 40+ years experience to this merged organization as 2nd Act. Their programming utilizes drama therapy, applied theatre, and theatre education to address Substance Use Disorder. Programming includes SEL theatre classes in recovery high schools, drama therapy groups for people in long-term recovery, original prevention plays for middle and high schools, and a collaborative applied theatre program in the community that creates new plays centering voices of those in recovery and people in active use. 2nd Act's Mission: 2nd Act is a collective of artists in recovery which uses theatre, film, and drama therapy to address the impact of substance use. Together we empower diverse and inclusive communities to promote understanding in the face of stigma. 2nd Act Vision: We believe in a world where all stories are honored, recovery is celebrated, and everyone gets a second act. *2nd Act is a Recovery Friendly Workplace.

?? Spotlight on Becca Harris '13: Executive Director at 2nd Act ?? Rebecca Harris, Executive Director of 2nd Act and a proud alumna of Southern New Hampshire University (Class of 2013), exemplifies the power of education, leadership, and community service. Throughout her career, Becca has leveraged the skills she gained at SNHU in events management and business to drive meaningful impact in the nonprofit sector. In her current role, Becca is focused on expanding 2nd Act’s reach and strengthening partnerships. One of her early initiatives has been to collaborate with SNHU’s Chandler Center, bringing together marketing and MBA students to work on strategic projects that support 2nd Act’s mission. This partnership not only provides students with valuable hands-on experience but also helps the organization refine its approach to data analysis and marketing. Becca’s commitment to service, leadership, and community development continues to shape her work, and we are excited to see the continued impact she will make in the years ahead.
