EP Wealth Advisors acquired Atlanta-based RIA CornerCap Investment Counsel as part of an ongoing expansion. The acquisition, which adds almost $1.1 billion in AUM to EP, is its fourth to be announced in 2024 and its 33rd since 2017. The values of CornerCap’s team “align with ours, and the partnership establishes an important Southeast hub as we continue on our path to becoming a single, nationwide RIA with extensive offerings and resources that allow our advisors across the country to deliver a local, boutique experience for clients who rely on EP,” said EP CEO Ryan Parker. CornerCap’s team has been led by CEO Cannon Carr, who will shift to the role of Regional Director, joined by Senior Vice President Richard Bean, CFA, CPA and Senior Wealth Advisor Thomas Quinn. Wealth.com completed a $30 million funding round led by venture capital firm and Alphabet subsidiary GV (Google Ventures), designed to enhance its AI-enhanced estate planning capabilities. “Our platform has streamlined and unlocked access to estate planning for thousands, highlighting the generational change we’re driving in the industry,” said Wealth.com’s Rafael Loureiro.
