Ben Owen here with a Thanksgiving message from one of our Sparrow families to yours, pic ENTHUSIASTICALLY shared with permission from all in it. Every one of yall that ever prayed for our work, donated to the cause, volunteered your time, commented on a post, or shared our mission - YOU make moments like this possible. Most of you will never comprehend the level of suffering endured and the series of miracles that have to take place for moments such as this to become a reality. Things most of us take for granted - shelter, food, security, consistency, and safety - are things the people in this photo could only dream of not that long ago. Thanks to YOU, every one of you, these things are not only present, but can be counted on. Narcotics and human trafficking are destroying lives in your back yard every day - whether you see it or not, it’s impacting every single one of us, and is a threat to our way of life. The war we are fighting in Memphis is going to be won, and it’s going to expand to a city near you. We will take back our streets and we will take care of our neighbors, we will not wait on the government or some entity to come save us. If not us, then who? These are OUR streets and OUR neighbors - it’s going to take us all, and that means YOU! THANK YOU ALL!!!!!
关于我们
Children are at the core of everything we do. Clearly children can't be vets, hence the immediate need to stand up a sister org to fund these efforts. The volume of kids we encounter in trap houses and on the dope track is horrifying. We don't simply try to take them away from their parents, we get them and their parents help, let them know they have options beyond living on the track, beyond selling dope, beyond being used as currency and fodder. We send teams of veterans and volunteers into the most dangerous places in America (and elsewhere), to save addicted and homeless Americans, sex trafficked women, missing and exploited children, and Americans trapped in danger abroad. We can only tell a fraction of our stories publicly, but every dime we raised gets put to immediate good use, as not one of our vets nor volunteers takes a check for going on these missions. We fight monsters. We fight evil. We fight things people don't want to acknowledge exist. Things people can't look at. Won't look at. We've been to hell. Walked it. Lived it. It was our existence. Some of us survived it because, at one point, we were monsters ourselves. Others happened to grab an extended hand at just the right time. But regardless of how we left hell, we remember the way out. We will spend our salvation going back in for those left behind. It's our duty. Our calling. Our purpose. Our mission. We fight monsters.

We DO recover!
Never in a million years could I tag everyone who was part of making this a reality. But know this - I should have died a hundred times over in a dozen different places within 100yds of this parking lot. Y’all are helping us change one of the deadliest neighborhoods in America into a place full of love, where race, religion and creed matter less than “we’re neighbors, we struggle TOGETHER.” South Memphis Soulsville Thanksgiving was a resounding WIN.

International Addiction Treatment Advocate. Interventions, Sober Transport And Companionship. Here To Show The World That You Can Recover From Addiction And Accomplish Things Beyond Your Wildest Dreams.
Addiction Is A Family Disease. My momma is the sweetest person you will ever meet. She would give her last penny to help someone. For many years I took advantage of her kindness and the truth is… she enabled my addiction and behavior. Eventually she learned how to set boundaries and started enabling my recovery. The money, place to stay and a car to drive came to an end. My dad and her would bring me food. Every single time they saw me they would tell me they love me and when I’m ready to get sober they’d be there to help. Things didn’t get better over night. I won’t lie to you and tell you the suffering stopped there. My addiction got worse. The choices I made got worse. I hit rock bottom and I hit it hard. For me that’s exactly what I needed. My mom sat by me at my worst. 45 pounds less than I’d ever weighed as an adult. With scabs all over my body. Deprived of food, water and sleep. On the verge of death and in psychosis. When the time was right she had a plan and was ready to take me to rehab. Today she sits beside me at my best. Happy, healthy and sober. She gets to witness me doing things that I never dreamed possible. She stopped enabling my addiction and started enabling my recovery!

Last year for Christmas we got an entire family off the street and housed. If donating isn’t in the budget, commenting, sharing and reposting is 100% FREE and helps IMMENSELY!
