It was a truly rewarding experience connecting with and giving back to our community. Another successful day of service is behind us, and we look forward to many more opportunities to make a positive impact!

This year’s MLK Day of Service was a powerful reminder of the impact we can create when we come together for a common cause! Together with Maya Johnson, Megan Saint-Jean, Alexis Saint-Jean, and a few of our other amazing members, we spent the day giving back to our community in meaningful ways. We partnered with Project Linus, making handmade blankets to bring warmth and comfort to children in need, and we assisted our local library with their mailing efforts. It was an honor to be interviewed by The Daily Collegian, where I shared my thoughts on the importance of service: “The idea that we’re all doing this for a good cause uplifts the community. The direct impact is a lot more effective than we realize.” Community service has always been a core value of mine, and as the president of We Are Runners, I’ve had the privilege of embracing and embodying those values. I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished together on this meaningful day.
