45 years ago, the Refugee Act of 1980 became law, reinforcing the U.S.’s commitment to welcoming those fleeing violence and persecution. Today, with global displacement at record highs, we must continue fighting for a system that truly offers safety, dignity, and opportunity for all.

Deportation on a mass scale wouldn’t just harm families—it would devastate our economy. A new report from Americans For Tax Fairness reveals that mass deportations would shrink the U.S. economy by $1.1 to $1.7 trillion, a contraction even worse than the 2008 financial crisis. Undocumented immigrants are essential economic contributors—in 2022 alone, they paid $96.7 billion in taxes, including billions in federal, state, and local contributions. In most states, they pay a higher tax rate than the top 1% of earners. Beyond the numbers, these are people—parents, workers, neighbors—who help build our communities every day. It’s time to recognize their contributions and push for policies that reflect reality. Read the full Americans For Tax Fairness report here: https://lnkd.in/e5pKxu7G

?? The rights of kids across the U.S. are under attack. Tell your members of Congress to defend vulnerable kids today at tinyurl.com/protect-kids ?? The Unaccompanied Children Program provides vulnerable kids with the legal help & representation they need to navigate the immigration system. But if the administration cuts the program's funding, over 26,000 kids - some as young as infants - would lose access to their attorneys. Kids would be forced to go to court alone, and prove their case before a judge against a government-trained attorney. We must take action now to defend life-saving legal services.
