Deportation on a mass scale wouldn’t just harm families—it would devastate our economy. A new report from Americans For Tax Fairness reveals that mass deportations would shrink the U.S. economy by $1.1 to $1.7 trillion, a contraction even worse than the 2008 financial crisis. Undocumented immigrants are essential economic contributors—in 2022 alone, they paid $96.7 billion in taxes, including billions in federal, state, and local contributions. In most states, they pay a higher tax rate than the top 1% of earners. Beyond the numbers, these are people—parents, workers, neighbors—who help build our communities every day. It’s time to recognize their contributions and push for policies that reflect reality. Read the full Americans For Tax Fairness report here: https://lnkd.in/e5pKxu7G

?? The rights of kids across the U.S. are under attack. Tell your members of Congress to defend vulnerable kids today at tinyurl.com/protect-kids ?? The Unaccompanied Children Program provides vulnerable kids with the legal help & representation they need to navigate the immigration system. But if the administration cuts the program's funding, over 26,000 kids - some as young as infants - would lose access to their attorneys. Kids would be forced to go to court alone, and prove their case before a judge against a government-trained attorney. We must take action now to defend life-saving legal services. Join our movement to defend unaccompanied children ?? tinyurl.com/protect-kids #protectkids #legalaccess #immigrationlaw #equaljusticeisimmigrantjustice #dueprocess #dueprocessrights #unaccompanied #unaccompaniedchildren

Hundreds of Lancaster residents & elected officials gathered in Penn Square to support Church World Service employees who have been furloughed as a result of the Trump administration’s funding cuts to nonprofits that help refugees and immigrants. “We need to make sure the next generation of refugee and immigrant leaders have the same opportunity I did.” Ahmed Ahmed, Lancaster City Council? “We have a centuries-long heritage as the north star state [as a place of refuge], and I certainly have no intention of giving it up today.” Rep. Government registration systems have long been used to target marginalized communities—from Japanese American incarceration to the post-9/11 Muslim registry. Now, the Trump administration is reviving these failed policies to criminalize immigrants. We must take action. As of 2/28/25, USCIS has NOT created a registration process. Before submitting any information, consult a trusted legal expert. Swipe to learn more & share to spread awareness!

"Amid worries about his future, Ali said there have been moments of joy in Dallas . For him, it could be as simple as finally being able to wear earrings that he once had to hide in his bag or holding someone’s hands without facing judgment. He said these moments have made him so happy he doesn’t think about anything else. 'Being able to be freely who you are is the best thing ever,' Ali said." https://lnkd.in/e-6HhtTj #RefugeesBelong #RefugeesWelcome
