It's #NationalDisabilityEmploymentAwarenessMonth! We acknowledge all employees who have disabilities and recognize that disability does not equal inability. Just last year, over 300 of our program participants reported having a disability, approximately 1 in 5. We at WDBSCW make sure our policies and programs are #inclusive and #accessible, especially our Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) program with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development run through local Wisconsin Job Centers, which focuses on serving workers with disabilities as well as providing assistance and trainings for employers on disability inclusion. #NDEAM #DisabilityAwareness #InclusionInTheWorkplace

On Wednesday, the Skilled Trades Showcase at the Portage Enterprise Center gave high school students in the area a unique, hands-on experience with careers in the trades! ???? As part of an initiative we support in partnership with Madison Area Technical College and local employers, students got to tour diesel trucks and tractors, work with metals, learn about electrical systems, and explore many other technical skills.
