Since 2005, Watertown Cable Access Corp (WCA-TV) has been Watertown's Public, Education, & Government Access (PEG) station. Our mission is to provide coverage of local events, meetings, and news, as well as access to our equipment and facility to engage our community and amplify their voices. Our Public channel consists of community events, news, and locally produced programming. On our Education channel, you will find school events, sports, library presentations and WHS student produced programming. Our Government channel provides all your gavel to gavel coverage of local municipal meetings, including City Council, School Committee, Zoning Board, and more. WCA-TV also streams online 24/7, and all of our videos can be accessed on-demand anytime on our website. Here at WCA-TV we not only aim to provide programming to residents, but we also encourage our community to come in and create their own programming. Becoming a member is free and easy, and after just one short orientation session, members gain access to our facility and field equipment. We also offer a variety of production focused workshops that, when completed, will grant even further access to our studio and editing suites. Our goal is to develop content produced primarily by the Watertown community. Our members are free to express themselves in a multitude of ways and are not limited to what they can produce. We are always accepting new members, and there’s nothing we love more than showcasing the diversity of our city through the people that make it so unique.

    WCA-TV is excited to announce our Winter PSA Day, December 13th, in support of Watertown non-profits! What exactly is PSA Day? WCA-TV’s PSA Day offers an opportunity for local Watertown nonprofits to come down to our studio and get help producing their very own PSA. All you need to bring is your script and smile! The PSAs created will then be broadcasted on WCA-TV’s Public Channels, as well as uploaded to our site. To register your non-profit today, please follow the link to fill out our form!     A few weeks ago, WCA-TV held yet another successful PSA Day! Our PSA Day allows local Watertown non-profits to come down to our studio and get help producing their very own PSA. The PSAs recorded are edited by our team and are currently being broadcasted on our channels! Our team values collaborating with other local non-profits and thanks all who came by prepped and ready to go. We absolutely love supporting other organizations through events like this, and cannot wait for our next PSA Day!

    Last week, WCA-TV proudly hosted the first episode of "Inside Watertown" in our brand-new studio! Hosts Bob Airasian and Charlie Breitrose sat down with Watertown's Community Engagement Specialist, Tyler Cote, and Constituent Services Director, Laura Murray. Tyler and Laura provided in-depth insights into their roles, shared the latest on initiatives aimed at gathering community input, and shared information about the city's new 311 service, among other key topics.

    Earlier this month, WCA-TV held our very first Youth Film Camp at our studio! During our camp, students learned how to create epic film projects through instruction and practice alongside our team in areas including pre-production, camerawork, audio and microphones, and video editing. Following the camp, we invited our campers, along with friends and family, back to our studio for a film viewing party! This program was partly supported by a generous grant from the Watertown Cultural Council, allowing us to offer this camp free of charge. We hope to continue this camp in future summers!

    WCA-TV will be closed to community members on Fridays until August 23rd! If you would like to take equipment out over the weekend during this period, we are allowing extended weekend reservations for pick up on Thursdays and return on Mondays.     ??Calling all aspiring directors, filmmakers, and actors! We are so excited to launch a two week Youth Film Camp this summer! This camp is FREE of charge to all students thanks to a generous grant by the Watertown Cultural Council. The camp is open to Watertown residents between the ages of nine and seventeen.
