Watertown Cable Access Corp is the community media station and PEG access channel for Watertown, Massachusetts.

WCA-TV is a 501c3 private non-profit organization established to ensure access to cable television channels and facilities for all Watertown, MA residents, groups and institutions, and to provide education and training to such groups on the use of access equipment and facilities. As a PEG access station, WCA-TV provides three channels on cable as well as online, which broadcast live and pre-recorded videos within the categories of public, educational, and governmental programs. Aside from our organization's duties to provide PEG access channels, our core programming includes teaching community members new skills, giving organizations a space to network and collaborate on projects, and providing a platform for residents to express themselves in a multitude of ways and capture the unique voices of our city. Community members can enhance or develop their skills in production in our various workshops, work as production assistants, on-camera talent, or announcers for high school sporting events, and take advantage of our internship opportunities for students. We measure our success based on the reach of our programming and the impact we make in our community through the work that we do. Our goal is to continue to be an open and welcoming space for all, and to serve as a platform for our community to learn and express themselves.

After nine incredible years, it’s time to say goodbye to one of WCA-TV’s finest—Sam! Sam started with us as a videographer back in 2016, and since then, she’s worn every hat imaginable—producer, teacher, mentor, award-winner, and friend. From running workshops and helping aspiring filmmakers find their voice to leading our Youth Summer Film Camp, Sam has left an unforgettable mark on our station and our community. She’s racked up some impressive accolades along the way—like being a 2018 Mass Creator Awards finalist and earning multiple Nor’Easter Awards for outstanding productions like Local Lives and Inside Watertown.And let’s not forget her most recent role as Assistant Executive Director and being instrumental in WCA-TV’s fundraising efforts, including securing funding from four local grants. But now, Sam is taking on her most important (and adorable) production yet—full-time mom life! While we’ll miss her creativity, leadership, and endless dedication, we know this next chapter will be just as amazing??

A few weeks ago, WCA-TV held yet another successful PSA Day! Our PSA Day allows local Watertown non-profits to come down to our studio and get help producing their very own PSA. The PSAs recorded are edited by our team and are currently being broadcasted on our channels! Our team values collaborating with other local non-profits and thanks all who came by prepped and ready to go. We absolutely love supporting other organizations through events like this, and cannot wait for our next PSA Day!
