Thank you for a great recap and your leadership! join us at WBC as we looked to future trends in business and the business landscape. #wbcollaborative
Reflecting on the Action for Impact (A4I) Annual Summit Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Women Business Collaborative Action for Impact Summit, where leaders in business, technology, and leadership gathered to discuss issues shaping our future. The event offered inspiring conversations and deep insights for empowering women in business. Here are key takeaways from some of the sessions: AI at Work Moderated by Emily Wilkins, this session featured Miriam Vogel and Gabriela Ramos. They discussed the importance of trust in AI development, highlighting that avoiding AI isn't an option. The session stressed the need to address biases in AI, with questions like: Who is this system designed for, and who could it fail? Diverse teams, better data, and rigorous testing are crucial to ensure AI serves everyone equitably. Empowering Growth for Women-Owned Businesses Moderated by Edie Fraser, this session featured entrepreneurs Sharon W. Reynolds, MBA, Diedre Windsor, Laura AyukTakem Fote, and Deborah Ward, who shared stories of resilience and purpose-driven leadership. A key theme was legacy—building businesses while giving back to communities and mentoring future women entrepreneurs. Sharon emphasized, "Legacy is impactful and will change lives." Women CEOs in America Report Kevin Cirilli moderated this session, where Jennifer McCollum, Anna Mok, and Gwen Young discussed WBC’s report on women CEOs. While progress is being made, only 10% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women. The panel stressed the importance of succession planning, board diversity, and sponsorship, not just mentorship, to accelerate women’s advancement. Boosting Investment in Women-Owned Businesses This session, led by Angela Dingle, Nicole Cober, Denielle Finkelstein, and Kelly Skalicky, focused on the barriers women face when accessing capital. Denielle shared how she faced over 100 rejections before successfully raising funds. The panel emphasized the importance of building networks and relationships with financial partners who understand the unique challenges women entrepreneurs face. Advancing Women into the C-Suite Panelists Gracie Lozano, Simone Jentsch, Tai Koottatep, Rashmi Chaturvedi, and Geena Mayback discussed systemic barriers preventing women from reaching the top. A notable point was the "broken rung"—for every 100 men promoted to management, only 87 women receive the same opportunity, with an even larger gap for women of color. Organizations need to establish inclusive cultures, set representation goals, and sponsor women in their career journeys. Closing Thoughts: The A4I Summit themes of resilience, diversity, and purpose-driven leadership resonated deeply, motivating me to continue advocating for women in business and tech. A big thank you to the incredible speakers and award recipients for their insights and commitment to empowering women. #WomenInBusiness #AILeadership #DiversityAndInclusion #WomenCEOs #Empowerment #WBCSummit #PurposeDrivenLeadership

The historic rise in women CEOs leading major firms in 2023 sparked widespread optimism that we might finally be on a steady upward swing, but momentum stalled in 2024, according to the Women Business Collaborative. #bizwomen #genderequity

Women Business Collaborative is out with their Women CEOs in America Report. The most compelling data is that the number of women CEOs has not increased. Is this a blip? Is a positive trend reversing? Time will tell, but it is clear we must double down on our work for gender parity in leadership. We know there are significant economic and social advantages to having women in CEO roles. Let's get the trend moving up!! #leadership #ceos #womenceos #womenleaders #genderparity https://lnkd.in/gnQZJwGN

Only 10% of Fortune 500 Companies are led by women? Only 1.2% are women of color? How can this still be the case? The old systems are broken, leaving needed, talented (underestimated) leaders on the sidelines. The old ways need complete overhaul. Thank you Women Business Collaborative for continuing to shine light on this issue. Brava Joanna Geraghty and Deb Liu for leading the way.
The 4th Annual Women CEOs in America Report by the Women Business Collaborative (WBC) shows both progress and challenges for women in corporate leadership. Female CEOs now hold 10.4% of positions in the Fortune 500 and 9% in the Russell 3000, with entrepreneurship by women growing by 41%. At Force For Good, the vision to empower women founders aligns with this momentum. Leaders like Joanna Geraghty and Deb Liu demonstrate the potential of women in leadership, inspiring other female founders to lead with purpose and drive societal change. Today, I had the honor of participating in a Women of Color Leadership Panel for the Women Business Collaborative. It was an inspiring conversation about the critical importance of supporting women—particularly women of color—in C-suite roles. Representation at the executive level isn't just about equity; it's about bringing diverse perspectives that drive innovation, resilience, and growth in today’s businesses. By advocating for more women in the C-suite, we are not only shaping a more inclusive workplace but also creating a future where leadership reflects the diversity of our world. Let's continue to champion each other and break barriers. Together, we can cultivate a stronger, more vibrant corporate landscape where everyone has a seat at the table. #Leadership #WomenOfColor #DiversityInLeadership #WomensBusinessCollaborative #InclusiveLeadership #Cybervation
