Did you know that more than 50% of our members are homeless when they first arrive at WAYS for Life? Those who aren’t homeless are often in unstable, temporary housing arrangements. Many have fled their families or state systems of care due to abuse and/or neglect. At WAYS, we do whatever it takes to help these youth overcome challenges with housing, legal issues, employment, education, transportation, health care, wellness, and counseling. We understand that until immediate basic needs like housing are met, it’s nearly impossible to focus on the future. That’s why WAYS is committed to creating transitional housing options to help our members stabilize their living situations while they work to become self-sustaining. With a safe, secure place to live, they can focus on rebuilding their lives and achieving their goals. WAYS currently serves over 400 young adults in Brevard (ages 15-25), along with over 190 of their dependent children. Please join us by supporting WAYS' Raise the Roof Gala Fundraiser on February 22nd to help us make this vision a reality! All funds raised will be used to support efforts to improve housing opportunities and provide life-changing wraparound services. Together, we can help young people in our community access the opportunities they deserve for a successful future. Reserve your spot by sponsoring today, helping to end youth homelessness in Brevard! https://lnkd.in/g7ZPpv38 #RaiseTheRoof #WAYSForLife #TransitionalHousing #SupportLocalYouth #GalaFundraiser#FlavorByChefKenya #SpaceCoastEvents #supportlocal

Victory Cup Initiative is a nonprofit in Central Florida devoted to helping fellow nonprofit leaders learn to communicate their unique agency stories in a manner that resonates with?their audience. The belief is when ideas are conveyed through effective storytelling, nonprofits enjoy greater success in generating support for their mission and operations. Victory Cup utilizes a group of world-class storytelling experts who volunteer their time to help teach passionate nonprofit leaders how to hone?this craft through story training workshops and follow-up coaching sessions. WAYS for Life provides wraparound youth services for teens and young adults formerly in foster care and those experiencing homelessness in Brevard. The WAYS for Life drop-in youth center offers an expansive matrix of services, including assistance finding safe and affordable housing, mental health therapy, an Education Lab including the GED FastTrack Program, legal services, a food & personal needs pantry, ongoing case management, career and employment assistance, transportation support, and more. As a Victory Cup finalist, WAYS for Life will participate in Victory Cup training to develop an impactful story about the services it provides in Brevard. The ten Victory Cup nonprofit finalists will each present their stories at the annual Victory Cup Storytelling Breakfast on February 25th, 2025, at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando. Described as the “best hour in Central Florida” year after year, the Victory Cup Storytelling Breakfast draws philanthropists throughout Central Florida who vote to determine how the generous funding raised by Victory Cup will be distributed among the ten nonprofit finalists sharing their stories. President of Victory Cup Initiative, Ashley Vann, stated, “Central Florida is proud of our nonprofit organizations, and we want to learn more, so we can do more. It is a gift to get to know more about WAYS for Life.” Pamela Bress, Executive Director at WAYS for Life responded by saying, “Selection by Victory Cup Initiative as a top-ten finalist is an incredible honor.
