Last week, our MA & Waypoint Adventure North Carolina program team joined educators from across the country for Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)'s #CEC2025 in Baltimore. As the only adventure education nonprofit at the conference, we were there to demonstrate that learning happens everywhere—on trails, in kayaks, on rock walls, and through every challenge that pushes students beyond what they thought was possible. A huge thank you to the incredible educators we met who share our passion for leadership, access, and breaking barriers. Let’s continue creating more opportunities for students to learn, lead, and explore! #FreeWhatsPossible #OutdoorLearning #ExperientialLearning #InclusiveEducation #Disability #ImageDescription in alt text

Freeing what’s possible... Fully accessible adventure for people with disabilities ??
关于我们
Waypoint Adventure is a non-profit educational organization that uses quality experiential and adventure-based programs to transform the lives of individuals with disabilities. We work with school groups, social service organizations, families and individuals to offer custom designed adventure programs that meet their goals and objectives. These programs are not just about having fun outdoors; they are about positive individual and group development. They’re about building social and character skills, forming teams and transforming people’s views of themselves and their abilities. Waypoint’s vision is that all people, regardless of ability, will have opportunities for adventure. Through these adventures, they will realize their personal value, strengths and abilities. The challenges faced and support discovered in these experiences is helping people become stronger individuals and community members.

This past Wednesday, our Deputy Director, Raeann W., took part in an incredible discussion on leadership and growth! So many valuable insights connect back to our work at Waypoint Adventure.
Deputy Director at Waypoint Adventure | Driving Accessibility, Inclusion, and Impact Through Fundraising and Nonprofit Leadership
Yesterday I joined the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce's Women's Network event featuring Joanna Geraghty, CEO of JetBlue to discuss topics from sustainability, tourism and the growth of our Commonwealth. ? Moderated by Geri Denterlein, Joanna's journey as a leader in the aviation industry led to an incredibly inspiring and insightful discussion. As the first woman to lead a major airline within the U.S., she shared stories and lessons from her time leading a team of 25,000 crew members, building a collaborative corporate culture, to the pivotal moments in her life that shaped her trajectory. ? Huge thanks to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce for organizing such a great event that empower and connect women in business! #WomensNetwork #Leadership #GBCC

It was an honor to be featured on WCVB’s 5 for Good last week where @ Erika Tarantal joined us for an afternoon of skiing at Weston Ski Track! As I shared with Erika, Americans spend billions of dollars on outdoor recreational activities every year, yet so often we hear participants share that this was their first time being able to participate. At Waypoint Adventure, we believe the outdoors should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Be sure to check out the full segment at the link here:

15 Years Ago, We Asked: What If? ? What if adventure could truly be for everyone? No barriers. No limits. Just the joy, opportunity, and magic of the outdoors, open to all. That bold “what if” lit a spark. And that spark ignited a movement—one that's grown bigger than we ever imagined. Because of YOU—our incredible participants, volunteers, and donors—this passion has grown into an organization that supports individuals, families, and communities throughout New England and more recently, North Carolina. ? Throughout 2025, we’re celebrating 15 years of Waypoint Adventure! Join us on the 15th of each month as we share milestones, memories, and stories about what it means to free what's possible. ? #15YearAnniversary #FreeWhatsPossible #AdventureReady #ExploreMore #AccessibilityMatters #BreakBarriers #PushYourself #OutdoorsForAll #OutdoorEducation #ImageDescription in alt text

Courage grows in moments of challenge—one paddle stroke at a time! During an indoor kayaking program at the?Jordan Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston?in Chelsea, a Mario Umana Academy?student (Boston Public Schools) turned hesitation into celebration! They faced their fear of water, stepped into a kayak, paddled with determination, and even asked for extra time in the water at the end! This is what Waypoint is all about—saying YES to adventure, building confidence, and discovering just how far you can go. #FreeWhatsPossible?#AdventureAwaits #YouthEmpowerment #PaddleOn #FaceYourFears?#ChallengeAccepted #ConfidenceBuilding?#PushYourself #ChelseaMA #ImageDescription?alt text

We recently finished up an adaptive climbing clinic with a spinal cord injury group and Michaela shared her experience: “I had so much fun pushing myself and learning where I have more strength than I thought. Whenever I challenge myself, I feel like I am making up for lost time. I was stuck in bed for some time of my life and, at one point, my biggest challenge was figuring out how to sit myself up again. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come!” Here's to breaking boundaries, learning strength, and freeing what's possible! Climb on, Michaela! #SCI #SpinalCordInjury #AdaptiveRockClimbing #ImageDescriptions in alt text.
