Today, we honor the brave men and women—career and volunteer—who serve as 911 telecommunicators, law enforcement, EMS, firefighters, search and rescue teams, divers, and emergency management professionals. These heroes are not just responders—they're our family, neighbors, friends, and co-workers, always ready to protect us 24/7. Earlier this month, the Wayne County Board of Commissioners passed a proclamation naming October 28, 2024, as First Responders Day in Wayne County to recognize our first responders' dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to our community. Thank you for your service today and every day!
