Waves For Water works on the front lines to provide access to clean water through the implementation of portable water filters, the construction and renovation of bore-hole wells, and the construction of rainwater harvesting and storage systems–in places where groundwater is not accessible. At the center of all these efforts is empowerment. Supported by our belief in developing and empowering local networks, we always implement our programs through the local teams of volunteers and community leaders, that we cultivate in the beginning stages of any project. This process enables us to connect with a community on a deeper level, by establishing trust and rapport, over time–which ultimately ensures the highest potential for a truly sustainable program. Waves For Water has implemented programs in 48 countries, with active programs in 23. They have responded to 33 disasters globally, implementing over 155 clean water programs globally - using water filtration systems (150,000), bore-hole wells, and rainwater harvesting systems. Since 2009 Waves For Water has impacted over 3,750,000 people.

?? 3.6 billion people don’t have access to toilets. Read that again. Sanitation is a human right, but billions still live without a safe place to go. Toilets aren’t just about comfort—they’re a vital line of defense against disease, pollution, and insecurity. For women and girls especially, access to a toilet means protection, dignity, and the chance to go to school or work without risking their health. Every day, around 1,000 children under 5 die because of unsafe water, sanitation, and hygiene. This is preventable. Improving access to clean water and sanitation could save 1.4 million lives each year. It’s not just a goal—it’s a matter of life and death. If you have a toilet, take a moment to thank it for doing its job. And remember, there’s still a world out there where billions aren’t as lucky. Let’s keep pushing until safe sanitation is a reality for everyone. #WorldToiletDay #SanitationForAll #WavesForWater

This year, a crew of young, fired-up volunteers from Youthclinc’s Service Year Program traveled halfway around the world to Chisang, a remote village on the India-Bhutan border. They didn’t come to sightsee—they came to make waves. ?? These young changemakers personally delivered clean water filters to families who need it most: the elderly, moms with young babies, moms-to-be, and those fighting serious illnesses like cancer and kidney disease. Seeing young people step up like this is powerful. It’s proof that age doesn’t matter when it comes to making a real impact. If you’re ready to get out there, join us as a *courier.* Carry filters, reach remote places, and experience the world in a way that matters. Adventure with purpose—are you ready? https://lnkd.in/eaWj4McW #YouthInAction #WavesForWater #CourierWithUs #AdventureWithPurpose

Pneumonia is claiming more young lives than any other disease, but— this is a battle we can win. Lack of clean water and sanitation gives diseases like pneumonia the perfect foothold. But when communities have clean water, infections drop, kids stay healthy, and fewer families have to endure the heartbreak of preventable loss. This is why we do what we do, day in and day out. Clean water changes everything. Want to help us flip the script on this statistic? Share this post, spread the word, and if you're ready, join us in pushing for clean water access worldwide. ?? #WorldPneumoniaDay #WavesForWater

His journey brought him back to service as a Project Manager in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, where he discovered his passion for giving back. Now, he channels that drive into our organization, bringing clean water solutions to those who need it most. ???? ?? Lakshmipur, Chandraganj, Bangladesh: In the aftermath of the recent flooding, we’re seeing firsthand what happens when access to clean water is cut off. Our latest medical camp treated countless cases of waterborne illnesses—diarrhea, stomach pain, skin infections—all linked to contaminated water sources. The water levels may have dropped, but the health crisis is far from over. With heavy rains now hitting Kurigram, Rangpur, and Sherpur, the ripple effect is spreading fast. Clean water isn’t just a necessity—it’s the frontline defense for these communities. We’re ramping up our efforts to provide filtration systems and set up more medical camps to keep people safe, but we need your help to keep going. This is how we make an impact, together. Every donation goes directly to life-saving resources for those who need them most. Let’s turn the tide. ?? #BangladeshFlooding #FloodingResponse #GlobalImpact #WavesForWater

On a recent trip in Madagascar, Ava Hartman, one of our couriers, worked alongside local communities to implement 25 water filters in rural areas. In places like Belo Sur Tsiribihina, where families rely on the Tsiribihinia River, these filters are making a real difference. What stood out most wasn’t just the gratitude, but the collaboration. The families were fully involved in the process, taking ownership of the filters and making sure they could provide safe water for their communities. At Waves For Water, it’s never about one person being the solution—it’s about empowering communities with the tools and resources they need to thrive. People like Ava are just connectors in this process. Together, we’re proving that access to clean water is possible everywhere. ????
