NEWS: WaveCrest Energy Announces the Teesside Flexible Regas Port WaveCrest Energy is pleased to announce its newest project called the Teesside Flexible Regas Port (TFRP). Located in northern England, the TFRP will provide direct access into the UK National Transmission System for up to 22.7 million cubic meters per day (800 million cubic feet per day) of natural gas.? ? This innovative project is based on WaveCrest’s proprietary design that allows us to provide on-demand LNG regasification at a significantly lower cost than other solutions. Designed for peaking, security of supply and sustained deliveries, the TFRP minimizes infrastructure investment making it an effective tool to manage energy risks. No need to have a lot of expensive infrastructure sitting idle waiting for a “what if” scenario - this capital-efficient solution is tailored for market needs to provide dependable energy insurance. ? WaveCrest is advancing with a market consultation process for the TFRP to receive input from market participants with an interest in securing capacity during our capacity auction planned for later this year.?Please see the attached press release and visit our website at www.wavecrestenergy/TFRP for more details and to download additional information. #LNG #FlexibleRegas #Teesside

We have a solution... Details coming soon.
Energy Editor for The Daily Telegraph, based in London. Personal account, personal opinions etc ....
It's great when the wind blows and the sun shines -and the UK can generate most of its electricity from low-carbon sources like wind and solar. Sometimes, though, that doesn't quite work out, and especially in 'dunkelflaute' spells like this weekend. Low winds and cold temperatures mean tonight Great Britain is getting 12% of its electricity from France, Holland and Belgium via interconnector cables, and another 66% from fossil fuels - mostly gas from National Gas. And about half the 104m cubic metres of gas being burnt daily in our power stations at the moment comes from Norway with another chunk from imported LNG, mostly from the US. It's costing us too. The UK paid America about £10bn for LNG in the year to September - and about four times that to Norway for its gas. So the UK is about as vulnerable as its ever been to global shocks and global markets. And, embarrassingly for our Department for Energy Security and Net Zero negotiators at Cop28, this weekend it'll be more reliant on fossil fuels than it's probably ever been.
