Hugo and Dean’s first short film, ‘The Last Tree’, has won ‘Best Experimental Short’ at NY International Short Film Festival! With Sound Design from Isaac Matus and supervision from Aaron Reynolds and Johnnie Burn, this short film explores a dystopian future where our natural resources have been squandered, and a prison inmate is brainwashed into stealing the last tree on Earth. We’re so happy to share that Isaac Matus has been named as this year’s Rising Star Sound Designer at the Music+Sound Awards for his work on SickKids Foundation’s ‘Heal The Future’! Congratulations are also in order for our team at Wave Studios London, taking home Best Sound Design in a Feature Film for ‘The Zone Of Interest’! We’re incredibly excited to welcome back Archie Presley to Wave Studios as our Global Engineer; working across the Amsterdam, London and New York studios. Archie grew up in London, starting out in music before discovering his niche in sound design. He learnt his chops at Leeds College of Music, before diving head first into the Dutch industry. After five brilliant years at Wave Amsterdam, Archie exchanged the clogs for a surfboard and ventured to Australia for 18 months, where he expanded into long-form documentary work while continuing to collaborate with Dutch clients from afar. Archie’s effortless talent and innovative sound approach have always set him apart, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him rejoin the team and jump into Wave projects globally.
