In celebration of Veterans Day, Waupaca Foundry is honored to have supported the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park by fabricating a bridge that represents unity and remembrance. Waupaca Foundry’s R&D Department recently demonstrated its commitment to quality and community by fabricating an 18,000-pound bridge for the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park. When the park needed a bridge to span its 50-foot canal, former employee John Smith knew Waupaca Foundry was the right choice, given their reputation for excellence. The R&D team, alongside high school interns, took on the challenge, dedicating 373 man-hours to design and construct the bridge, using substantial materials and precise engineering to ensure its durability and strength. Beyond the fabrication, Waupaca Foundry contributed to the project by providing hands-on learning opportunities for local students in CAD design and engineering, fostering the next generation of skilled workers. “This project was our way of giving back to the community that supports us,” said Lincoln O'Brien, Mechanical MFG Engineering Manager. Installed in April 2024, the bridge stands not only as a vital addition to the park but also as a lasting tribute to veterans and their families, reflecting Waupaca Foundry's dedication to craftsmanship and community involvement.
