Gas Engine Technology (GET) is our foundational training course, which applies to all Waukesha engines. Innovation happens when the right people and companies come together. In July 2024, Alberta’s Minister of Environment and Protected Areas announced a $15 million investment in the NGIF Emissions Testing Centre (ETC) Program, a major push to scale methane-reducing technologies. Tourmaline Oil Corp invited the Waukesha team to the press announcement, recognizing their shared commitment to emissions reduction among a select group. As part of their collaboration, Waukesha upgraded 29 of Tourmaline’s engines to VHP Series Five specs through our reUp Remanufacturing program, transforming aging equipment into high-performance, low-emission powerhouses. The upgrades were validated through the NGIF ETC Program’s state-of-the-art facilities, including lab testing at the University of Calgary and live field trials at Tourmaline’s West Wolf Lake Gas Plant jointly owned with Rubellite Energy. This collaboration proves what’s possible when technology and teamwork meet. The Waukesha 275GL+ with ESM 2 is built to take on remote locations, unpredictable loads and strict emissions requirements, all while managing costs effectively.
