Big news in the world of Canal-Top Solar! This is a solution that "just makes sense." By providing more efficient renewable energy, without new land development, saving water from evaporation, and reducing maintenance costs we can create better infrastructure across the United States. These projects will better secure energy/water/land for citizens, farmers, businesses and of course benefit our environment. It is awesome to see such an investment in time and effort from public and private entities to make this happen. Watts on Water is working hard to get involved and help contribute to the birth of this new industry. We are developing our innovative approach to this problem as well as supplemental hardware and software to scale smartly. We hope to work with the amazing organizations behind these projects in the near future! here is a link to the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/gtmbmrFw
Reclamation Commissioner Camille Calimlim Touton and state and local officials today announced $19 million for innovative solar energy projects to further build resilience to climate change and expand clean domestic energy production. During an event at O’Neill Pumping Plant along the Delta-Mendota Canal in California, the Commissioner said President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda is funding pilot projects in California, Oregon and Utah to evaluate the technical capability, economic feasibility and viability for full scale implementation of solar-over-canals technology.
