Celebrating 80 Years of Watkins Trucking Company Inc! ?? This year, the Watkins family proudly marks 80 incredible years in the transportation industry. Founded in 1944 by Irvin "Pop" Watkins, the family business has grown from humble beginnings near Moulton, Ala., to become a cornerstone of the Birmingham trucking community. Through decades of change and industry challenges, the company has stayed true to its values of honesty, hard work, respect for its drivers and exceptional customer service. These principles have guided the company through four generations of leadership, from Pop Watkins to his son Hoyt, now to Randy, David, and Wayne Watkins, who are preparing their kids for the next chapter. As President Wayne Watkins says, “Pop taught us the meaning of hard work and being men of our word. We owe so much to the leadership of our father and grandfather, and we’re proud to pass those lessons on to the next generation.”

On Saturday, we celebrated 80 years of Watkins Trucking Company with many of our employees, vendors, family and friends at the Birmingham Barons game. Longtime driver, Vince R. threw out the first pitch of the game and the Barons won an exciting game on the last play! We enjoyed food, fellowship and baseball. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our company over the years and we look forward to 80 more!
