In honor of Women’s History Month, we are proud to showcase Feeling Our Age, a breathtaking art exhibition by Kathleen Cosgrove, now on display at Sonrisa Senior Living in Roseville, CA. Through her stunning paintings, Kathleen beautifully captures the strength, wisdom, and resilience of women through the years, offering a powerful reflection on the aging experience. The exhibit’s recent gala was a celebration of both art and empowerment, where guests immersed themselves in Kathleen’s inspiring work while enjoying a masterfully curated menu by Sonrisa’s talented culinary team. Guests also enjoyed the opportunity to meet the artist and receive a signed copy of the Feeling Our Age book, featuring 65 paintings of women over 60, along with personal essays that delve into their experiences and perspectives on aging. Feeling Our Age — Sixty Over Sixty is a traveling exhibit that debuted in summer 2024 at The Watermark at the Pearl, and is now open to the public for a limited time at Sonrisa Senior Living. On this National Caregivers Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to the extraordinary caregivers at Watermark communities across the country. Your unwavering dedication, compassion, and genuine care make a profound difference in the lives of our residents each and every day. Meet a shining member of Watermark’s compassionate caregiving team! Doha works at The Watermark at Southpark Meadows in Austin, Texas. When asked what inspired him to join Watermark, he shared, "I’ve always been passionate about enriching the lives of seniors, and Watermark’s commitment to creating vibrant communities where residents can thrive really resonated with me. I’m excited to be part of an organization that values compassionate care, innovative wellness programs, and fostering meaningful connections." One special example is his unique bond with a former French professor. Doha speaks French with her, brightening her day and helping her reconnect with the language she loves. At many of the community’s special events, you can find him dancing with residents and bringing smiles to their faces. When asked what he finds most fulfilling about his role, he said, "Without a doubt, it’s seeing the smiles and sense of contentment among our residents. While we can't replace the love and support of their families, I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where they feel comfortable and happy. Knowing I’m contributing to their well-being and making a positive difference is incredibly fulfilling." Outside of work, Doha enjoys dancing and playing soccer with his children, volunteering at his church, and spending time in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for his wife and kids. Caregivers, whether you provide personal care, physical assistance, or emotional support, the love you share creates a true sense of home—where residents feel safe, valued, and part of a family.
