Overlook Walk opened Friday with so much excitement and enthusiasm that was palpable! The event was kicked off by cutting the ceremonial red ribbon, then thousands of people flooded into the space, eager to see the new native plantings, playground, beautiful architecture, and sweeping views! Thank you to everyone who was able to be a part of the magical evening ? Overlook Walk is not only a connection between Pike Place Market, Downtown Seattle, and the waterfront but also a connection between Seattleites and the sea, nature, and to each other. And this opening evening was a true sign of that connection - welcome to your new Overlook Walk! Open daily from 7am to 10pm. Thank you to the partnerships that facilitated the opening of this iconic and historic landmark – present to cut the ribbon: Jared Axelrod (Amazon), City Councilmember Robert Kettle, Marshall Foster (Director, Seattle Center), Bob Davidson (President & CEO, Seattle Aquarium) Mayor Bruce Harrell, Angela Brady (Director, Office of the Waterfront & Civic Projects), James Corner (Founding Partner, Field Operations), Joy Shigaki (President & CEO, Friends of Waterfront Park), Leonard Forsman (Suquamish Tribe Chairman), Donny Stevenson (Muckleshoot Tribal Councilmember), and Jessica Murphy (OWCP Construction Program Manager).
