关于我们

Transforming lives and sharing God's love through sustainable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene in the places that need it most. Water for Good is committed to creating a future where no one dies from a preventable waterborne disease. In partnership with local churches and leaders, we help communities establish access to reliable water and critical sanitation and hygiene practices—ensuring sustainable change, empowered citizens, and healthy futures. Our work is crucial because the water crisis is unsustainable, impacting 703 million people who lack access to basic water services. Every two minutes, a child under the age of five dies from a preventable waterborne disease. When 1-in-12 people around the world lack reliable access to safe water and 1-in-5 lack access to a toilet, they also lack the opportunity to truly thrive. Women and children are particularly disadvantaged, often spending hours collecting water that may not even be safe to drink. It affects health, hinders education, perpetuates poverty, and deepens inequality. But together, we can be a source for change that ends the crisis so every child experiences safe water, a healthy community, and God's love. Water for Good is a Christian, faith-based organization focused on providing safe, reliable water, and improved sanitation and hygiene in places that need it most. We believe in the inherent dignity of every person and serve all people, regardless of race, religion, gender, or background. Our services are offered freely, without requiring any faith, financial, or other commitments in return. We aim to meet the needs of communities with compassion, integrity, and respect, working collaboratively while honoring diverse beliefs and values.

This month, we celebrated World Water Day, a reminder that safe water is more than a basic need—it’s a building block for brighter futures for children.? No matter where the path leads, a child’s journey to education starts with one simple thing: water.? Water fuels their morning, helping them arrive at school ready to learn. It keeps their minds sharp and their focus strong—whether they’re solving a tough math problem or reading their favorite book.? But water’s impact goes beyond the drinking fountain. It means clean bathrooms at school. The chance to wash their hands and stay healthy. Safe water to cook meals that nourish their bodies and minds.?? At Water for Good, we know that education isn’t just about books and teachers—it’s about creating safe, healthy environments where kids can thrive, free from the setbacks of thirst and preventable illness. That’s why we’re providing schools with safe water, sanitation, and hygiene resources—because every child deserves the opportunity to learn without barriers.? Education has the power to change the world. And it all starts with water.? https://ow.ly/iAqz50V9yQV? #ItAllStartsWithWater #WorldWaterDay #WaterChangesEverything #WASH?

Today is World Water Day—a global reminder that it all starts with water.? Water isn’t just a resource—it’s a foundation for health, education, and opportunity. It determines whether a child can attend school, whether a mother can provide for her family, and whether a community can thrive.? Just ask Zeyneba.? For years, Zeyneba spent hours each day walking for water—time that kept her from caring for her family and building a better future. The water she collected often made her children sick, forcing them to miss school. But everything changed when Water for Good brought safe, reliable water to her community and shared God’s love in a very tangible way.? Now, her children are healthy and stay in school. And with the time she once spent fetching water, Zeyneba has started a small business selling fresh produce—creating new opportunities for her family’s future.? But millions of families like Zeyneba’s are still waiting.? That’s why this World Water Day, we are working to bring safe, reliable water, sanitation, and hygiene to 5,000 people as we raise $300k together. Just $60 provides one person with this for an entire year—opening the door to better health, education, and opportunity.? Because World Water Day isn’t just about water—it’s about what water makes possible: health, education, and a brighter future.? Will you help us reach our goal and bring life-changing water to more families?? https://ow.ly/AjsX50V9KBu? #WASH #WaterChangesEverything #ItAllStartsWithWater?

Safe, reliable water doesn’t just change lives for a day—it changes them for a lifetime.? When communities gain access to safe water, everything shifts. Children stay in school. Families stay healthy. Women build businesses. Entire communities thrive. We’ve seen the impact firsthand. Zeyneba no longer walks miles for water—she spends that time growing her small business and securing a better future for her children. Safe water didn’t just change her day—it changed her life. But for millions of families, that transformation hasn’t happened yet:? – Women still lose hours each day collecting unsafe water.? – Children still miss school because of preventable illness.? – Entire communities still wait for the opportunities that safe water provides. The work isn’t done. Tomorrow, on World Water Day, help keep the ripple going—and be a part of what’s next.?? Every day, millions of women and girls walk miles for water—time that could be spent learning, working, engaging in church activities, or caring for their families. Worse, the water they collect often brings sickness instead of safety. That was Zeyneba’s reality—until Water for Good installed a well just 200 meters from her home. With safe, reliable water, her children are healthy, and she now runs a small business selling fresh produce—using the time she once spent fetching dirty water to build a better future. No more long walks. No more waterborne diseases. No more missed opportunities.?When we invest in safe water, we invest in people’s futures. This World Water Day, March 22, help us bring safe water to 5,000 people like Zeyneba. Just $60 provides one person with this, plus hygiene and sanitation for an entire year. https://ow.ly/Q65y50V9Fuo #ItAllStartsWithWater #WaterChangesEverything #WASH #WorldWaterDay

At Water for Good, we’ve seen how sustainable plumbing systems—combined with local training and long-term maintenance—can transform lives. There’s been a 90 percent or more reduction in childhood diarrhea in areas where we work, and communities are gaining the tools to sustainably maintain their progress. Without safe plumbing, communities face more than inconvenience—they face preventable health crises, economic stagnation, and limited educational opportunities. That’s why World Plumbing Day matters. Reliable plumbing systems: -Reduce waterborne diseases like cholera and diarrhea. -Improve school attendance by ensuring access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities. -Empower communities by providing the infrastructure needed for long-term development. This World Plumbing Day, let’s recognize the engineers, plumbers, and community health leaders who make safe water possible. And let’s keep pushing for solutions that ensure everyone, everywhere, can benefit from something so fundamental. #WorldPlumbingDay #SustainableChange #WASH

In our new Deep Dives series, we’re taking a closer look at the strategies, challenges, and evidence shaping Water for Good’s approach to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). From household-level behavior change to sustainability gaps and global collaboration, we’ll be sharing what we’ve learned—and the questions we’re still asking. After all, the real impact of WASH goes beyond building infrastructure—it requires behavior change, sustainability, and community-driven solutions. In this first post on our blog, Zerihun Desta, Chief Operating Officer, and Adrienne Lane, Vice President of Strategy, explore how Water for Good’s Vision of a Healthy Village model builds on and improves traditional sanitation efforts by focusing on door-to-door engagement, household certification, and long-term behavior change.
