Located on the Sportplex site east of the Fieldhouse and Lawson Aquatic Centre, this project marks an important step in enhancing the city’s recreational offerings. Exciting news! WTI is thrilled that the MLK Jr. Aquatic Center in Yakima, WA is almost complete and set to open in the summer of 2025. This state-of-the-art facility is being built in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, offering a space for recreation, connection, and empowerment for all. The center will feature two expansive pools covering 7,868 sq. ft., including one with zero-depth entry for accessibility. It will also include an AquaClimb rock-climbing wall and a NinjaCross Obstacle Course. This project is a significant step toward providing the community with a much-needed resource for fitness and fun. A huge thank you to everyone who is working alongside us and continues to help bring this project to life — we appreciate your dedication and effort in making this vision a reality. WTI is thrilled to highlight that Sar-Ko-Par Aquatic Center in Lenexa, Kansas, has been recognized in Athletic Business' 2025 Aquatic Design Portfolio. This state-of-the-art facility offers a comprehensive aquatic experience for all ages, featuring a 7,377 SF eight-lane, 25-meter competition pool with two 1-meter diving boards and one 3-meter platform. It also includes an 11,341 SF current channel, a zero-depth children’s pool with an interactive play structure, and geysers. The facility also boasts a 30-foot-tall slide tower with two waterslides and ample shade and deck space, enhancing the overall guest experience. Groundbreaking for the $15M renovation began in 2023, and the park celebrated the second renovation and design grand opening on Memorial Weekend, 2024. This award-winning project reflects the City of Lenexa's commitment to providing top-tier recreational opportunities for its residents. WTI is excited to announce that the Aurora Southeast Recreation Center and Fieldhouse was recognized in Athletic Business 2025 Aquatic Design Portfolio. Within this remarkable facility is a diverse aquatic center that offers a dynamic and inclusive recreational experience for people of all ages and abilities. It features a nearly 5,000 SF Leisure Pool that boasts four distinct aquatic amenities – a four-lane lap pool, a zero-depth entry with a water table and interactive play structure, a whirlpool, a current channel, and a thrilling 20-ft waterslide. This one-of-a-kind facility marks the fifth recreation center in Aurora. Spanning nearly 77,000 square feet, this award-winning project reflects the community’s landscape and people. Designed to maximize accessibility and highlight stunning mountain views, this facility is a regional destination near the Aurora Reservoir, with over 600+ acres of open space for future development.
