Wanda’s journey began in the foster care system, marked by uncertainty and hardship. Throughout her youth, Wanda faced the chaos of broken families and moving from home to home, not knowing where she would live next. Her main bright spot was learning to cook from time to time with her grandmother, a skill and passion that would stay with her for life. A while ago, she began visiting Water Street's Outreach Center for groceries, not just for herself but to cook for her neighbors in need. She now volunteers at our Outreach Center, sorting and handing out groceries to neighbors in need as well as cooking for her family of volunteers, truly filling her food with love.
