This announcement is a much-needed step forward in the work to remove lead from drinking water across the county. And while replacing lead services lines over the next decade is an ambitious goal, this kind of urgency sends a clear message: Everyone deserves access to clean, safe, affordable drinking water, and we must act quickly to make that a reality. Together, state and federal governments, water systems, on-the-ground organizations, and advocacy groups must join one another to make this goal possible. Each of us has a role to play in achieving this mission — from allocating to securing and deploying funds to providing technical guidance and raising public awareness.?We look forward to working with our partners, new and old, to protect our most important resource and ensure its equitable, safe access for every home. https://lnkd.in/egrZbUTR

One year ago, the Supreme Court removed federal clean water protections for millions of acres of wetlands and miles of stream. As natural buffers for excess stormwater, the loss of wetlands jeopardizes communities’ flood defenses and puts more U.S. communities at risk of floods and catastrophic (and expensive) damage. Read more about the impacts of the Sackett decision from Andrew Fahlund, the Water Foundation’s Senior Program Officer and Policy Advisor. #ProtectOurWaters #ProtectCleanWater https://lnkd.in/g-7Gx4VC

Public investment in water is a cornerstone for thriving communities.
Federal investment in America’s water infrastructure is working—and we have the stats to prove it. Today, we're proud to share our latest report, "Bridging the Gap: The Power of Investment in Water," which dives into the economic impacts of federal investment in water over the next 10 and 20 years. What we found? By continuing to invest in water under spending levels established through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021, we will close the national water investment gap by $125B. Further, these investments will: ?? Spur long-term economic growth ?? Protect Jobs ?? Increase household savings ?? Reduce healthcare costs ?? Improve resilience for water-reliant industries Thank you to American Society of Civil Engineers and EBP US for your partnership in this project! Dive into the data and learn more about why continued federal investment & reframing how we #valuewater is critical to our future: https://lnkd.in/gYyTCbAM

A great new resource from our friends Water Hub?for envisioning a green, equitable, community-centered water future.
We’re thrilled to share our NEW #JustInfrastructure campaign video!????? When we tell the story of “Just Infrastructure,” we tell a story of progress, celebration, and hopeful vision for our shared water future. Federal funding from the #BipartisanInfrastructureLaw and #InflationReductionAct is laying the groundwork for much-needed green infrastructure projects nationwide. This is something to celebrate! These federally funded projects can help correct decades of disinvestment and multi-solve climate challenges– all while creating jobs, protecting communities, and healing the land. From “forest to faucet,” equitable water investments benefit us all, and it’s vital to keep these funds keep flowing to the communities that need them the most. Voice credits: ??
