Washington NASA Space Grant Consortium (WASG) was established in 1989 with a grant from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
We offer annual scholarships, fellowships and internships at affiliate schools; professional development and resources for formal and informal educators; and sponsor NASA-related public events.
WASG is comprised of 24 members and partners from around Washington state. That includes 13 colleges and universities, the Museum of Flight and the Pacific Science Center. Our offices are housed at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Our mission is to enhance higher education opportunities for Washington students seeking to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM); to enrich and improve STEM education at our state's diverse pre-college, college, university and community learning centers; to aid the development of interdisciplinary programs within and among member institutions; and to provide public outreach for NASA missions, and thereby strengthen the future workforce for NASA and our nation.

For 2 weeks during winter, students from UW Bothell, Heritage University, Bard College, and Cascadia College were brought together to complete the Space Science Computing Winter Academy! ?? ?? From Global and Local Climate Modeling to the impact of Black Hole Mergers, these students worked diligently during their time, and produced excellent presentation reports of their findings. ?? Congratulations ?? to Darci Snowden, Central Washington University, for receiving additional funding from the Nationwide Eclipse Ballooning Project (NEBP). "The National Eclipse Project ballooning team from Central Washington University traveled to the Bethany Beach, Delaware for a new campaign to study the atmosphere over the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic Ocean. Students launched 5 radiosonde (weather balloons) a day for a week along with several other teams spread up and down the East Coast." ?? ?? Fantastic Work, Everyone!??
