Eleven Brown School students recently took their classroom knowledge to the frontlines of local policy, testifying on a bill to expand non-traditional housing options in St. Louis! This was all part of their “Domestic Social and Economic Development Policy” course, which gives students real-world experience in legislative advocacy and policymaking.?

Congratulations to Professor Fred M. Ssewamala on receiving the Arthur Holly Compton Faculty Achievement Award! This incredible honor was presented by Chancellor Andrew D. Martin during WashU's Founders Day celebration on Nov. 9. Dr. Ssewamala is the William E. Gordon Distinguished Professor and the founder of the International Center for Child Health and Development - ICHAD. The Compton Award celebrates distinguished faculty from WashU’s Danforth Campus schools, recognizing their remarkable contributions to academia and beyond. We’re also thrilled to congratulate alumnus Bill Siedhoff, BS ’68, MSW ’73, on receiving a Distinguished Alumni Award.
