Washington potato farmers aren’t just growing food - they’re mashing together advocacy and action, feeding communities, driving local economies, and advocating for the future of sustainable agriculture. That’s why the annual Potato Day in Olympia is such an important event. This year, 1,600 baked potatoes were served while farmers and legislators came together to discuss pressing issues like: ? Water rights - Ensuring fair and sustainable access to water for farms ? Transportation & supply chains - Addressing rising costs and infrastructure needs ? Food accessibility - Strengthening programs that connect fresh potatoes to schools, food banks, and families in need These discussions are vital to keeping Washington’s potato farms viable for generations to come. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated! Your support for local agriculture means investing in food security, sustainability, and our state’s economy. #WAPotatoes #Washington #Potatoes #PotatoDay #PotatoLoversMonth #PotatoGrowers #Agriculture #FarmToTable
