Job growth in Washington state is projected to be 12.8% through 2032, far above the projected national average of 2.8%. Emerging economic trends could push state job growth to nearly 16%. This is good news. The challenge: 75% of the projected job openings will require a postsecondary credential, and we’re on pace to come up short by nearly 600,000 credentialled workers needed to meet economic demand. We must act collectively to build the workforce needed to sustain our state’s success. Member news: Congratulations to Symetra on being named a Best Workplace for Women for the third year in a row! (Fortune, Great Place To Work US)
We’re proud to be recognized as a Best Workplace for Women by Great Place to Work and Fortune Magazine for the third consecutive year. And we couldn’t agree more with Great Place To Work US CEO Michael Bush, who noted, “The things that create a great workplace for women are the same basic needs that every employee has. The best workplaces have closed the experience gap, providing access and opportunity to all regardless of an employee’s gender or background.” Read more: https://ow.ly/Zrgm50TUzW1 and check out our open opportunities here: https://ow.ly/P50c50TUzXC. #BestWorkplaces

It’s going to take all of us acting collectively to build the workforce needed to sustain our state’s success. (cc: Ingrid Stegemoeller, Brian Jeffries)

Mentoring the next generation of leaders is a powerful driver of innovation and career growth. Great to see Pacific Northwest National Laboratory offering these exceptional opportunities for interns and staff.?
One of the coolest things about joining our national lab is the mentorship available to everyone from interns up through full-time staff members. These opportunities for professional development strengthen the ability of PNNL'ers to address the world's toughest energy and security challenges. ???? Full-time staff members mentor interns as part of our Office of STEM Education Gold Experience. ???? Full-time employees, research associates, postdocs, and more work together across disciplines throughout the lab. This #NationalMentoringDay, we thank every person who makes these programs possible! ??

From The Seattle Times: “It’s elementary: A high school diploma no longer does the job.”?The editorial underscores a truth highlighted in our recent Skill Up for Our Future report: 75% of job openings in Washington over the next decade will require postsecondary credentials—degrees, apprenticeships, and certifications. As the demand for skilled workers increases, it's crucial to ensure our state’s education and training programs are ready to meet the moment. The path forward? Collaboration and focused efforts to make credential pathways accessible and attainable for all Washingtonians and to communicate directly with students and families about the value and opportunity. As the Seattle Times concludes, it’s time for everyone to put their shoulder to the wheel. https://lnkd.in/gNiRunxi
