Members of the four Career Connect Washington initiative leadership organizations, including Washington Roundtable, toured the Puget Sound Joint Apprenticeship Training Center and the Seattle Area Pipe Trades Apprenticeship Training Center. It was great to see firsthand the state-of-the-art training labs that have both hands-on learning and classroom space. According to our latest report, our state will come up short by nearly 600,000 credentialed workers by 2032. Increasing production of postsecondary credentials, including apprenticeships, will be critical to filling this gap https://bit.ly/Skill-Up-WA #SkillUpWA (Ingrid Stegemoeller, Sara Garrettson, Angie Mason-Smith, Kimberly Hetrick, Ed.D., Rachel McAloon, Washington Student Achievement Council (WSAC), Washington STEM)

Job growth in Washington state is projected to be 12.8% through 2032, far above the projected national average of 2.8%. Emerging economic trends could push state job growth to nearly 16%. This is good news. The challenge: 75% of the projected job openings will require a postsecondary credential, and we’re on pace to come up short by nearly 600,000 credentialled workers needed to meet economic demand. We must act collectively to build the workforce needed to sustain our state’s success. We’re proud to be recognized as a Best Workplace for Women by Great Place to Work and Fortune Magazine for the third consecutive year. And we couldn’t agree more with Great Place To Work US CEO Michael Bush, who noted, “The things that create a great workplace for women are the same basic needs that every employee has. The best workplaces have closed the experience gap, providing access and opportunity to all regardless of an employee’s gender or background.” Read more: https://ow.ly/Zrgm50TUzW1 and check out our open opportunities here: https://ow.ly/P50c50TUzXC. #BestWorkplaces
