Kathy Sprouse, one of our physical therapists, starts most mornings with a walk around our hospital campus. She takes immense pride in keeping our hospital campus clean and beautiful and picks up any litter she comes across. Kathy recently had a birthday, and several members of the physical medicine team chose to celebrate her by spending their lunch break picking up trash along the walking trails on our campus. Their actions not only honored Kathy but also helped make our grounds a cleaner, more inviting place for visitors, team members and patients. Kathy and the physical medicine team truly embody what it means to be #WRHealthCareHeroes!

Dr. Peter Fischer, medical director of Washington Regional’s Trauma Center, recently joined other national trauma experts at the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT). Dr. Fischer presented about projects and initiatives involving prehospital care for injured patients. He also represented the ACS COT at the Prehospital Blood Transfusion Coalition Advocacy meeting at the ACS headquarters in Washington D.C. The mission of the Committee on Trauma is to develop and implement programs that support injury prevention and ensure optimal patient outcomes across the continuum of care. We are thankful for Dr. Fischer's dedication and contributions to advancing trauma care and improving patient outcomes.
