Yesterday we were able to attend the event at the Port of Seattle celebrating this major accomplishment! All three of the port’s cruise berths now support shore power technology, allowing ships to connect to the Seattle City Light grid and turn off fuel-based engines to reduce air emissions. This milestone makes Seattle one of the FIRST cruise ports to simultaneously offer shore power at all berths. Congratulations!! https://lnkd.in/gCEETep4

We are excited to share news from the WSDOT Port Electrification Grant Program: an award for the Port of Benton! The $2.7m grant award will help facilitate the Port’s work installing shore power infrastructure at its north Richland barge complex on the Columbia River. Through this investment, the state will join the Port in building toward a “Green Shipping Corridor” along the Columbia River, allowing vessels to plug into zero-emission shore power instead of running diesel engines when they’re at dock. Many thanks to the WA State Legislators for funding this program and making projects like this possible!! https://lnkd.in/gxj5yjUP
