Sioux Falls, Jacobson Plaza is going to be so special! Last night we sampled the food, beverages, and ambiance in the amazing event hall. It’s going to be THE spot for year-round fun with a refrigerated ice skating ribbon, all abilities playground, dog park, the region’s largest splash pad, and more. Parents, let the kids go play while you enjoy a burger and fries for $10 (yes, you read that right) and a bevvy. Thank you donors! This is our city’s largest public/private partnership in Parks history and would not be possible without you and the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation bringing us all together. Coming July ‘25!

This month, we’re highlighting their ongoing commitment to enriching Sioux Falls through their support of our Broadway performances, Washington Pavilion Gala, Quarry Dig exhibit in the Kirby Science Discovery Center and our annual Tidings & Tinsel initiative. ?? Our work wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of Pillar Partners like LG Everist. Help us recognize and thank them!?

  • ?? Exciting News from Spotlight Theatre Company! ?? Through Spotlight Theatre Company's Plays for Living initiative, talented students take the stage to engage the community, sparking important conversations around sensitive social issues. These performances aim to raise awareness and inspire change within our communities. The initiative recently introduced Monster in the Mirror, a new play commissioned from NYC-based playwright and Augustana graduate Katelynn Kenney. This thought-provoking piece tackles vital issues like cyberbullying and body dysmorphia, all within the imaginative setting of a magical boarding school. Currently touring local 4th and 5th-grade classrooms, the debut of the play received an overwhelmingly positive response from teachers and counselors, who praised the relevance and importance of its themes. Spotlight Theatre Company is dedicated to providing young people with opportunities to excel in theatre by meeting them where they are and helping them to grow.??

?? Empowering Young Leaders & Promoting Sustainability! ?? We’re thrilled to feature a special Off the Fridge display showcasing the creativity and environmental commitment of the Girl Scouts from Troop 41434. Their artwork, now on display along our 2nd floor window ledge, is a key part of their Brownie Outdoor Journey Award. These young leaders have taken action to protect the environment. After earning badges in First Aid, Hiking, Cabin Camping and Eco-Friendship during their first overnight campout in August 2024, they set their sights on making a lasting impact in their community. For their Take Action Project, they cleaned up litter at Sertoma Park and transformed trash into art to raise awareness about using resources wisely. Their work serves as a reminder to rethink waste and make mindful choices. The Washington Pavilion is proud to provide a space to showcase their efforts and support groups that are making a difference. Stop by to see their display and celebrate the power of small actions leading to big change!
