Last week, the WNF celebrated Nanotechnology?Day?with a User Appreciation and Networking event! We were?happy?to have representatives from Micron in attendance, providing insights into their work and sharing exciting career opportunities. The student poster contest was a highlight, with a fantastic turnout – congratulations to?Kyle Wong?for winning a $200 Amazon gift card. Students in the photos are Jimmy Phan, Sophie Tacher, Sri Vaishnavi and Jayita Dutta.

Semiconductors can be found in everything from microwaves to smartphones. At the UW Washington Nanofabrication Facility (WNF), students and industry researchers get hands-on experience with this critical technology. The WNF operates 15,000 square feet of ISO class 5-7 cleanroom and laboratory space, providing access to academic and industry researchers to use the facility for cutting-edge developments in biosensors, #quantum computing and more. The WNF is part of the UW Institute for Nano-engineered Systems (NanoES) and the National Science Foundation (NSF)'s National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI). “We can give people who know nothing about chips or what is a semiconductor the basics about what it takes. It’s so important to have a place where experiential learning can occur,” says Maria Huffman. See the WNF in action in our latest video: https://lnkd.in/g8e-RzQ9
