We engage with undergraduate students, connecting deserving young people with senior-level executives from major media companies and provide academic scholarships to students pursuing degrees in a variety of disciplines that touch strategic media. Our mission is to provide college students with the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the public policy advertising field, and to meet--and potentially work for--leaders in the media industry. Our signature programs are the Media Scholars Case Competition and the Media Fellows essay-based scholarship program. Through these programs, we create scholarship and provide educational and professional development opportunities for students and their advisors. I’m thrilled to be participating in the #WMSFImpact campaign to share my journey with this incredible foundation! The impact I’ve seen through the Washington Media Scholars Foundation has been nothing short of inspiring. When I first came to WMSF, I was looking for a new challenge—something that would push me to grow and allow me to make a meaningful difference. From day one, Robin Roberts’ passion for empowering students and creating opportunities was immediately contagious. It was clear from the start that WMSF wasn’t just about scholarships—it was about building a community where students, professors, alumni, and sponsors could connect and support one another. WMSF has opened doors for so many students, offering scholarships that ease the financial burden of pursuing a degree, and providing mentorship that has guided so many into their dream roles. I’ve seen students who were once unsure of their path now confidently stepping into leadership positions, thanks to the network and opportunities WMSF provides. Professors have shared how they’ve watched their students flourish, armed with the tools and connections WMSF offers.?Sponsors have seen firsthand the incredible potential of WMSF students-actively seeking to bring them into their organizations. But my favorite part? Without a doubt, it’s working with the students.?Their energy, creativity, and determination inspire me every day.
