Mentors from Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington join Washington Filmworks Above the Line Narrative Program to support our inaugural cohort of five Washington-based filmmakers.
After completing a 12 week education forum, each of the five emerging filmmakers worked with Director of Workforce Development Audra Laymon and consultant Ana Souza to identify how they wanted to move their project forward during their six month mentorship. Using this information, each filmmaker was paired with both a Washington-based mentor as well as a mentor out of Los Angeles, New York, or San Francisco.
"The relationships being built across Washington state and the country are inspiring," said Executive Director Amy Lillard. "Not only are each of the filmmakers getting the information and network that they need to move their project forward, Washington Filmworks is investing in the future of film in the evergreen state by supporting our future job creators."
