Congratulations to Emily Schuh and Jim Lemberg with the City of Anacortes on being awarded the Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve (ESGR) #PatriotAward. Both were nominated by Washington National Guard 2nd Lt. Joseph Edwards. The awards were presented by #ESGR volunteer John Van Dalen at the Anacortes City Council meeting in which Mayor Matt Miller, council members and the public attended. “All together, I have been gone for training and deployments for 17 months and never once they complained,” Edwards said at the award presentation. “Without hesitation, when I have requested time off for military obligations it is a resounding, “of course Joe, do what you have to do.”" Read more at https://lnkd.in/dv2ZPT_x

Jeffrey Todd, a public affairs officer at the U.S. Forest Service. “He [White], an Army veteran of Afghanistan where he served as an Infantry leader in the initial stages of the war, has assisted me deeply in my growth as a non-commissioned officer in the Army … also helping me to connect those dots of lessons learned back to my civilian career with the U.S. Forest Service,” said Todd. “Supervisor White engaged my whole family with a warm welcome when we initially, not knowing anyone, arrived in this small town last year. Waldref was nominated by her employee United States Army Reserve Maj. Alison Gregoire, an assistant US attorney. “Vanessa Waldref has always been completely supportive and has taken extra steps to ensure the success of the missions of both the U.S. Attorney’s office and the military,” said Gregoire.?“The office has three attorneys who also serve in the military, nearly half of the staff. U.S. Attorney Waldref accommodates the three every month for drill weekends and to participate in active duty for training. More than that, she has made sure that her service member attorneys have tools – tablets, phones, and laptops with remote access to ensure that they can continue to complete their work while away pursuant to Reserve duties.” U.S. Attorney Waldref said of Major Gregoire, Assistant U.S. Attorney: “She is a true leader and plays a critical role in our mission of building stronger and safer communities for everyone. Krasselt and Wilcox were nominated by @amy parson Amy Parson, a resource accounting manager at Avista whose spouse is Washington Air National Guard Lt. Col. Charles Parson, commander of the 242nd Combat Communication Squadron. “Ryan Krasselt and John Wilcox have gone above and beyond to directly support me as a military spouse,” said Parson. “Most recently they allowed me to take a leave of absence from by job at Avista Corp. in order to spend over 5 months in Germany while my spouse was deployed. It took Ryan and John a lot of coordination to back-fill my position and John additionally assumed some of my responsibilities. I was so thankful that I was able to spend this time with my husband and support him while deployed.
