We would like to thank our partners from Walmart and LexisNexis Risk Solutions for helping to provide Thanksgiving meals for each of our Junior Cadets. Yesterday, we traveled to each of the five schools in the program to talk about gratitude and to distribute the special meals. The Junior Cadet program is made possible by the support of the #motorolasolutionsfoundation, the giving branch of Motorola Solutions. Junior Cadets are part of a 31-week program, taught by DC Metropolitan Police Department officer mentors!

A big thank you to Logan Bradley for his kindness and passion for supporting the community! Last week, he donated over 100 puzzles and boxes of school supplies for DC Metropolitan Police Department community outreach efforts and our friends at Hendley Elementary School. Logan is a rising Senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and has been a wonderful partner, giving back to our region! #ThankYou #DCPAL

We were happy to spend the day at Food on the Stove's Fire & EMS Summit. The information shared was incredibly important. The MPD Cadets were able to network with the DC Fire Cadets, as they learned how to prioritize their health as first responders.
On Friday July 19th, Food on the Stove partnered with Equipped to host a Fire & EMS Summit. While this event was branded for firefighters and EMS personnel, we saw an opportunity to share our resources with our partners in public safety. Thank you Rebecca Schwartz and Washington DC Police Foundation for partnering with us to spread the word. This summit wasn't about the profession of first responders as much as it was about the people that serve in these roles. We wanted to focus on their personal and professional development. We had multiple agencies represented at this event such as MPD, DC Fire and EMS Department, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, and AMR. We look forward to future opportunities to provide tools and resources that allow our first responders live healthier, mentally and physically, now and post retirement. Special thanks to our sponsors at Amazon , CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield , and Inova Health. This would not be possible without their support of first responders and Food on the Stove. Also, thanks to our amazing speakers for joining us in our mission to serve those who serve us. Click the link below and help us continue our mission by becoming a monthly donor of any amount. Thanks for your support. https://lnkd.in/dGedhnVD

The Foundation is proud to be recognized as one of the Greater Washington Community Foundation Leaders of the Future. With their support, we are able to not only bridge the gap between youth and law enforcement but are able to inspire #DCPAL athletes to work with their DC Metropolitan Police Department officers to build a stronger and safer community together. https://lnkd.in/ejhmaEYd
"We hope to inspire those who live in the city to work hand in hand with law enforcement to make the city a safer place for everyone to live, work and visit." Continuing our recognition of Leaders of the Future, The Community Foundation is highlighting the work and mission of peacemakers who are working to empower children, youth and adults to build stronger, safer communities. We asked the DC Police Foundation to share how they are building bridges between MPD officers and youth in the neighborhoods they serve. https://ow.ly/8yHF50SoKxP

Executive Director Patrick Burke, MA, MS, CPM and Director of Operations & Development Rebecca Schwartz volunteered at this year's Golf Tournament, where all funds directly support the college education of children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. Thank you Jack Nichols, Cherrie Doggett and Heather Pace for the work you do to ensure families are taken care of after experiencing such a loss. #heroesinc #publicsafety #community #firstresponders
