Today, CDA Executive Director Melissa Taphorn testified before the Senate Committee on Housing and Homelessness Prevention. Bill SF1913, authored by Senator Liz Boldon, is aimed at establishing a locally controlled housing fund. This would be a powerful tool enabling municipalities, tribal governments and housing corporations, community land trusts, and local housing authorities to create and preserve housing that is permanently affordable, self-sustaining, and affordable. All this is urgently needed in communities across Minnesota. Thank you to Senator Liz Boldon, the Senate Housing and Homelessness Prevention committee, and all who testified: Farhan Badel, David Dunn, and Lucas Franco. #washingtoncountycda #HousingAffordability #Minnesota #MNleg https://lnkd.in/gBy7BqDa

Building a successful future for our residents starts with understanding individual experience. That’s why the CDA is hosting a series of coffee chats with residents. Last week, Washington County District 2 Commissioner Stan Karwoski, CDA Commissioner Roger Green, and Shelter Corp. met with the residents of Piccadilly Square Apartments in Mahtomedi. We are grateful for our staff, partners, and residents for their time discussing CDA and County activities, connecting about needs, and growing our community relationships. #washingtoncountycda #washingtoncountymn?Stan Karwoski
