The Washington Commanders are a professional American football team located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The team belongs to the East Division of the National Football Conference in the National Football League. The team's home stadium is FedExField in Landover, Maryland. Its headquarters and training facility is the Inova Sports Performance Center in Loudoun County, Virginia. Washington has played more than 1,000 games since 1932 and has won five NFL Championships (two pre-merger, and three Super Bowls). The franchise has captured 15 NFL divisional titles and five NFL conference championships.

Growing up, I spent countless hours watching football, and one player I always admired was Pat Fischer. As a small kid who played cornerback in peewee football, seeing Pat out there taking on the big guys made a huge impact on me. He was a smaller guy, but he was one of the toughest on the field, playing with heart, grit, and determination. It’s something I’ve carried with me ever since. Pat was a cornerstone of the franchise. A three-time Pro Bowler, and a key defensive player during his time in Washington, he showed us what it means to give everything for your team. He finished his 17-year NFL career with 56 interceptions – a testament to his perseverance and passion for the game. Pat was drafted in the 17th round of the NFL Draft – defying expectations and proving that it’s not about where you start, but where you finish. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones as we remember a true legend. Rest in peace, Pat. Thank you for inspiring generations of players and fans, myself included. Washington Commanders

Hosted by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation led by trailblazing CEO Antonio Tijerino, the Hispanic Heritage Awards is a night to celebrate the Latino community's accomplishments and cultural pride. ?
