Washington College’s Geospatial Innovation Program recently partnered with the Office of Intercultural Affairs' Hunger and Homelessness Committee to map all 28 newly installed free Aunt Flow menstrual product dispensers across campus. This initiative is an important step toward destigmatizing menstrual health and closing the period product gap that exists in many schools. #menstrualhealth #auntflow

The Washington College Geospatial Innovation Program (GIP) is a spatial technologies hub with the mission of providing experiential learning opportunities for students in a professional working environment. Working with partners like the Maryland Highway Safety Office, Kent County, our Center for Environment and Society, and the Upper Shore Regional Counsel, we leverage 21st century technologies to the ancient art of map-making. Here we seek a deeper understanding of the land we live on and the human networks we move through, all while providing our partners and clients with analytics that frame the world geospatially. Our GIS team recently attended and presented at the Delmarva GIS Conference in Delaware! This year, Sean Lynn, our Program Manager, has participated in the conference as a presenter and the Conference Chair. Madison Kaye, our GIS & Cultural Resources Specialist, presented a web application for the Delaware Department of Education. During the conference we were able to learn about innovative uses of GIS technology and mapping solutions, as well as showcasing our program.
