Cloud storage fees are holding businesses back. The third-annual Wasabi Global Cloud Storage Index is here, and the numbers don’t lie: Over half (56%) of organizations globally experience IT or business delays due to cloud storage fees.? In fact, the split between storage fees versus actual storage used remains consistent with findings from the past two years, indicating little to no improvement in this billing mix for the market overall, with 49% of bills attributed to fees. And it’s only getting worse: 62% of organizations blew past their cloud storage budgets in 2024, up from 53% in 2023. Based on a global survey of 1,600 IT decision-makers conducted by Vanson Bourne, this year’s report uncovers the real impact of unpredictable costs and why businesses need a better way forward.
