Warwick Township, founded by petition February 13, 1733, was named after a small town in central England. Prior to 1819, the Township boundaries were more extensive and were adjusted when Doylestown Township was established. As of the 2020 census, this 11.1 square mile Township has 14,851 residents. An increase of 414 residents since 2010. The character of the community is mostly suburban, mixed with some commercial, industrial, and rural areas. Over 1,100 acres of land has been permanently preserved by the Township, with additional acreage preserved by either Bucks County or the Heritage Conservancy. Warwick Township is a Township of the second class, governed by the Second Class Township Code. It is governed by three elected supervisors, who serve staggered, six year terms. Local government services include: Police, Planning and Zoning, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Administration and Finance. All departments are supervised by the appointed Township Manager who carries out the policies of the Board of Supervisors. More information for each department can be found here.     Warwick Township, PA – October 23, 2024 – Warwick Township is excited to announce that it has been awarded a substantial grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Local Share Account – Statewide program. The Township will receive $510,000 to fund the replacement of the Recreation Station Playground in Community Park. Originally installed in 1998, the train-themed playground has begun to show signs of wear and tear. Thanks to this generous funding from the State, the Recreation Station play area will be revitalized with modern play structures, new sunshades, and native tree plantings.     Warwick Township is proud to announce that it has been selected as a recipient of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Multimodal Transportation Program funding. The Township will receive $1.5 million to rehabilitate the Valley Road Bridge, a vital project to improve local infrastructure. The PennDOT Multimodal Transportation Program is designed to support municipalities and their projects to improve transportation assets. This generous funding allocation underscores the State’s commitment to fostering safe and reliable transportation solutions across Pennsylvania. The Valley Road Bridge, a critical component of Warwick Township’s transportation network, will benefit greatly from this project. The funding will be utilized to reconstruct the bridge’s structural components, ensuring its safety and extending its longevity. Planning for the Valley Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project will begin in 2025, with work likely to begin in 2026 or 2027.
