Warren, Washington & Albany Counties ARC (WWAARC), A Chapter of The Arc New York, is a nonprofit organization serving nearly 1,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We operate 34 residences, 29 Supported Living Program (SLP) apartments, five day programs, Community Employment and we have a free standing Respite Center. For over 50 years, WWAARC has represented a longstanding tradition of providing outstanding advocacy, family support, and the very best quality services to many people throughout Warren, Washington and Albany Counties.

On Saturday, The Arc New York's CEO Erik Geizer joined Capital Region Chapters for an unforgettable night at the Albany FireWolves lacrosse game at The MVP Arena ! As part of the #CelebrateThe518 campaign, the Firewolves created a welcoming & inclusive game-day experience for individuals with sensory concerns and cognitive disabilities. ??? This special night was all about accessibility, inclusion, and making live sports enjoyable for everyone—ensuring that those who don’t often get the chance to attend a game had the opportunity to do so in a sensory-friendly environment. ???? And to make the night even better… the Firewolves took home the WIN ????, defeating the two-time defending champions Buffalo Bandits in an epic overtime battle, 11-10! ???? ????Lacrosse, Learning, and Inclusion with the Albany FireWolves! ???? Last week, individuals from Warren, Washington, Albany Counties ARC and The Arc Lexington had an unforgettable experience at a lacrosse clinic hosted by the Albany FireWolves at Hudson Valley Community College! ?? Participants had a blast learning how to hold and cradle a lacrosse stick, aim for the goal, and shoot like the pros! ?? They also got to meet the players, snap some photos with the team and mascot ??, and experience the excitement of the game firsthand. ?? Erik Geizer, CEO of The Arc New York, shared that this collaboration with the FireWolves has been fantastic and is a true testament to the power of inclusion — proving that we really are #StrongerTogether! ???? A huge THANK YOU to the Albany FireWolves for making this such a fun and memorable experience! ????????
