In 2021, Warner Bros. Games implemented a Returnship Program to help people restart their careers. Returnships prioritize hiring mid-career professionals such as moms, dads and other caregivers who had to leave their jobs to take care of family members – and one such candidate was Zaineb Waheed. ? While she already had more than eight years of experience in project and operations management under her belt, she faced the challenge of returning to work after taking a break to raise her family. ? “I was worried about getting back to work after an extended career break thinking that no one would be interested in someone who had no recent experience,” says Zaineb. “Warner Bros. Games is one of the few companies out there that offer Returnships and they believed in me, and in many others like me who have returned to work through this program.” ? After completing the program, Zaineb was hired on full time. Today, she serves as our User Research Operations Manager at the Warner Bros. Games Burbank office – and she believes this is where she was always meant to be. ? “I grew up collecting Looney Tunes stuffed toys, sifting through DC comics, and reading and watching The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter,” recalls Zaineb. “It is no surprise that I ended up working at Warner Bros. Games where all my favorite characters come to life every day on our mobile phones, PCs and console devices.” ? #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG

  • Sometimes, your career can take you down unexpected turns – only to end up exactly where you need to be. And Amelia Mosawi is proof of that. ? From getting her start on the West End supporting some of the biggest musicals in the world to serving as a Media & Publications Officer for a local council, one constant has always been her love for games. ? “I was mainly working on crisis comms around the pandemic,” recalls Amelia. “But having been a video game fan since I was a child, I was so excited when this role at Warner Bros. Games came up.” ? Today, Amelia serves as the Senior PR & Social Media Executive on our International Publishing team, working on console and PC titles within the EMEA and APAC regions. And she affectionately describes this role as her “dream job.” ? “I get to work on so many IPs that I have loved since I was a child,” she says. “I’m grateful to be part of a brilliant team of experienced people who are amazing at what they do, and open to sharing their knowledge. Whether it’s about sales, e-commerce or production, I get to learn about all areas of the video games industry on a daily basis. Plus, I grew up playing titles from Warner Bros. Games, so work doesn’t feel like work at all. I have loved every moment of it! ? But if she had to choose a specific moment that stands out above the rest, it would have to be about Hogwarts Legacy: ? “When Hogwarts Legacy launched in 2023, I got to travel to Japan and Australia to manage the preview events,” she recalls. “We invited press and creators to play the game before release, and it was an incredible experience showcasing the game. I learnt so much through running these events, and looking back it was a huge achievement and key career growth opportunity for me.” ? Aside from work, Amelia is also a dedicated member of the Warner Bros. Discovery Run Club, with as many as one run completed in the last six months! ? #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG

  • Why are Warner Bros. Games employees the best in the business? Jessica Sit has four words for you: “We’re all fans first.” ? As a Partner Relations Manager at Warner Bros. Games, Jessica expertly oversees our relationships with first-party partners, handling everything from piloting promotional opportunities to advising on strategic decisions. ? Drawing from her roots in book publishing and skills as a former Games Curator at Apple, her peers admire her ability to blend her passion for storytelling with her love for games – but she insists this sincerity is a common thread amongst all her colleagues: ? “Whether it’s DC, Game of Thrones or Mortal Kombat, every person on the team is deeply invested in creating the best experience possible,” says Jessica. “That level of dedication is not only inspiring but also fosters a fun, collaborative environment where creative ideas can thrive.” ? One such creative project was the launch of “House of the Dragon” Season 2, which brought a slew of new content to the mobile strategy title, Game of Thrones: Conquest. ?? “It was exciting to coordinate with the App Store to spotlight the new in-game content that paralleled the show – which our studio worked on so feverishly to bring to life,” says Jessica. “We also collaborated with the team at MAX, which allowed us to feature Game of Thrones: Conquest alongside the MAX app in a Today Story on the App Store. It was a perfect blend of timing, synergy and fan enthusiasm.” ? When she’s not driving discoverability, growing our player base or interfacing with partners though, Jessica enjoys writing some lighthearted fiction and spending time with her daughter. “I appreciate how supportive Warner Bros. Games is for women and working parents,” she says. “I feel very lucky to be part of a workplace that celebrates diversity and provides the flexibility and resources we need to succeed both personally and professionally.” ? #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG
